Creating a project

A new project can be created from within the projects page, which you find by clicking on 'Projects' on the left-hand menu.

To create a new project:

  • Click on the 'New' button on the top right of the projects page
  • This will take you to the project creator page

Project name

By default projects are given a name in the style of 'Project 1234'.

Renaming a project:

  • Click on the bar at the top of the project creator and then update the name.

Adding videos

Videos can be added to a project on the first step of the project creation process, which is labelled 'Videos'.

To add videos:

  1. Click on the 'Upload video' button
  2. Select the video(s) you would like to add
  3. Click on the Next button
  4. Select the source language of the video(s)
  • Tip: A source language is the language which is spoken within the uploaded video.
  1. Confirm by clicking Upload

If you wish to upload the video at a later date then the option is provided to 'Upload later'. In this instance you can provide a predicted overview of the video name, source language and approximate duration. This would enable you to create the project before the video is available for upload.

To rename a video:

  • Click on the video name bar and edit within

Selecting project output

The project output is the video accessibility feature (for example: English closed captions, Spanish dubbing, French closed captions or English audio description) which will be created in this project.

To select project outputs:

  1. Click on the 'Add' button
  2. Select the type of output you would like, for example Subtitles or Audio Description
  3. Select the language you want the output to be in
  4. Click on the 'Add' button again to create several outputs for your project

You can add as many outputs as you like to a project. Please note that all outputs will be created for each video in your project.

Managing project workflow

A workflow is a set of tasks which will be scheduled for completion in order to produce a specific output.

For every project output, there will be an associated workflow with default tasks added.

To edit a workflow:

  1. Click on a task to delete it
  2. Click on the '+' to add another task

Managing project timeline

A project timeline is an overview of the start times and deadlines for all tasks in a project.

The timeline shows you the Task overview, Start time, End time and then a Calendar overview.

By selecting the '+' symbol next to each output the view will be expanded to show each individual task set along with Start time, End time and Calendar view.

How to read a project timeline:

  • Timeline view: The project timeline will be displayed across the days of the week, with each task allocated a certain amount of time which can be edited by the project manager.
  • Full screen view: Click on the full screen icon in the top-right corner of the timeline to expand the view.

Tip: You can zoom in and out of the timeline by using the + and - buttons of the calander view.

How to edit a project timeline:

  1. Click on the start time of the task, then select your new start time.
  2. Click on the end time of the task, then select your new duration. Alternatively you can click on 'Fixed' to select a deadline rather than a duration.

Note: When you update the timings of a task, other tasks which depend on this task will also be updated.

Batch updates

  1. Slect multiple tasks on the left-hand side of the output name
  2. Make a change to one of the output's start or end times then click on 'update all selected' and all selected tasks will be changed.

Creating a project

Once you have edited and set all areas of the project to suit your requirements you can the click on the 'Create project' button. You will then be taken to the project management page.

Note: All selections that have been made can be edited at any point within the project.
